EAR TO THE WALL is a music media platform and video production company that promotes emerging and underrepresented musicians through live performance capture, original films, interviews, and other promotional video assets. Its purpose is to create content that is both entertaining, and that helps artists to reach wider audiences.

As co-founder, lead videographer, and editor, I have been central to the planning and delivery of seven films to date: six episodes of The GreensKeepers Jam and our debut original film, Working 9-5: The Life of a Modern Artist. My role has required me to contribute across the full production process, from planning in pre-production to filming, editing, and managing marketing. This has given me practical experience in leadership, creative collaboration, and time-management.

A key part of my contribution has been launching and developing our collaboration with Conor & The GreensKeepers. This project aligns closely with our aim of supporting exciting musical talent in Manchester, while also building a recognisable brand alongside a pre-existing audience. The GreensKeepers Jam is a recurring event that has brought together an eclectic mix of musicians for over two years. Set in the iconic venue Stage & Radio, the night is valued as much for its vibrant and diverse community as it is for the performances themselves. Our web-series turns that energy into a polished production, combining beautiful performance footage, professionally mixed audio from Nathan Stoker, and radio-style commentary from host Conor Michael to give the series a distinctive identity.

As director of the series, I am responsible for managing these collaborators, coordinating schedules and ensuring each episode is delivered to our high standards. Because the event is improvised, production has to be adaptive, so I brief the other videographers to ensure we capture every moment. I am also the sole editor, bringing the footage to cohesion through sequencing, colour grading, and additional post-production elements such as artist credits. So far, we have featured performances from 59 musicians, which reflects the scale and cultural significance of the project.

In addition, I manage the project’s marketing plan. For each episode, I create short-form clips optimised for virality on social media, and work them into an ongoing marketing plan. This has helped me develop a strong understanding of digital marketing, content optimisation and community building. The success of the series has been integral to establishing EAR TO THE WALL as a reputable video production company and music media platform.

Alongside delivering this series, I was also lead videographer on Working 9-5: The Life of a Modern Artist. For this film, I set up cameras and lighting, filmed six of the seven interviews, and contributed to creating a welcoming and professional environment for our interviewees. This role strengthened my technical ability, and the project reflects the standard and aims of the business.
